A fifty two minute film production of Noel Miller (Neddy Noel) in 2020. Filmed by Noel and by Leon Tipler on board the Oceaan 7, this fascinating movie shows life on the ship off Scarborough and in Bridlington Bay.
This movie gives you a chance to see many of the DJs and crew, not to mention hundreds of trippers who came out to visit the radio ship on board the Coronia from Scarborough, and the Boys Own and Yorkshire Belle from Bridlington. See how the news was prepared and then read live on the air, the main studio and Radio 270's unique gimbal-mounted twin turntable unit and the mighty 10,000 watt RCA transmitter.
The movie shows the DJs riding out a Force 11 storm (a near hurricane) that winter. It also shows damage done by the wind and the waves to the ship and the poor mizzen sail! Chairman Leonard Dale supervising installation of a new anchor, and Neddy Noel, the human winch capstan!
